청룡도 Blue Dragon

용은 기린,봉황,거북과 함께 전설 속 4가지 신령한 사령에 속한다.

민화에 등장하는 용은 거대한 뱀과 비슷한데 몸체에 비늘과 4개의 발이 있고 머리는 낙타같다. 여기에 뿔은 사슴에,귀는 소의 것에 가깝다.

주로 깊은 못이나 늪,호수,바다 등 물속에서 산다고 전해 내려오며 때로는 하늘로 올라가 풍운을 일으키기도 한다.

용의 그림은 오복을 불러오고 사귀를 물리치며 집안을 보호한다고 알려져있다.  파도속에서 용의 승천하는 것이 대표적이며 용은 대체로 파도문을  배경으로 하고있다.

The dragon belongs to the four spiritual orders of the legend along with the giraffe, the phoenix, and the turtle. The dragon that appears in folk painting is like a giant snake, with scales and four feet on its body, and its head is like a camel. Here the horns are close to the deer, and the ears are close to the cow’s. It is said to live mainly in deep nails, swamps, lakes, and in the water, and sometimes goes up to the sky and raises weather. The dragon painting is known to invite five luck, defeat the associate and protect the house. It is typical to ascend the dragon in the waves, and the dragon is generally in the background of the wave door.
